snow day

Today was a snow day. By that I mean it was very snowy today.

It is my opinion that if it is snowing, then you should get a snow day. You know, a get out of work free day due to the inclement weather. Who doesn't dream of a snow day? A snow day means you can go back to sleep. When you finally wake up you make a big pot of coffee and watch all the things you can't normally watch because you are at work. Maybe you go outside to play in the snow; maybe you don't. It doesn't really matter. Because you aren't at work.

So it snowed today. I woke up to the sound of snow scrapers. I looked out the window and saw the blanket of white. I looked at my phone and willed it to ring. I checked my work email searching for news of my office closed. I think the snow tree was broken. After all, my boss who is supposed to initiate it is in Florida. Why would she call about the snow?
So I had to go to work today. It took almost an hour and a half to get there (an hour longer than usual.) I waited on the bus for over 30 minutes. I would not have waited for the bus, if I didn't have to go to work. I seriously thought about going back inside and calling it a day.

So it wasn't really a snow day. But it was a snowy day.
